Who operates ShortsCenter
ShortsCenter is a personal desktop application operated by Ville Haapanen, Finland. It runs only on the operator's own computer and has no other users. Contact: inspireyouinaminute@gmail.com.
Google data the app accesses
- Google Drive (read-only): lists and downloads video files from Drive folders the user explicitly selects in the app.
- YouTube Data API: uploads videos to the user's own channel and sets their title, description, tags, visibility, scheduled time and thumbnail.
- Basic account information: the account email and channel name, shown in the app so the user can see which account is connected.
How data is stored
All data stays on the user's own computer. Access tokens and API keys are stored in the Windows Credential Manager; videos, renders, transcripts and settings are stored in a local data folder. ShortsCenter has no server of its own and does not collect analytics.
Third-party processing
To provide features the user turns on, the app sends limited content to these services:
- Anthropic (Claude API): the speech transcript of a video, to generate a title, description, tags, short on-screen texts and a content-guideline risk note.
- Cloudflare Workers AI: one still frame from a video, to create a thumbnail image.
- Openverse: music search terms typed by the user.
Speech recognition runs locally on the user's computer. No data is sold, used for advertising, or shared for any other purpose.
Google API Services User Data Policy
ShortsCenter's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Local renders are removed automatically after publishing; other local data is kept until the user deletes it. Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and all local data is removed by deleting the app's data folder.
